Our Story

 To the different ones, the strange, the invisible, the lonely ones, and to the ones ahead of their time.
To those who were hidden, denied, and outcast—just because they were different.
To the souls of those who have been rejected because they had hair as red as the Poinciana flowers, bullied for hair as curly as oak trunks, accused of witchcraft because they were gifted with an unusual talent using herbs and revealing the secrets of nature, or because they knew how to harness the hidden powers of the mind and possessed an extraordinary fluency of tongue.

To the free-spirited ones, who were stigmatized because they recognized what they wanted at a very early age of humanity, accused of immorality because they held the sources of words and the keys to hearts, buried... because they were just themselves.

To all of those, we know that you were so beautiful, ambitious, dreamy, and daring. We’d love to let you know: “Sleep in peace.” We are here, and so is each one of you—still here, and forever will be. Many trees have grown from your blood that was criminally shed in vain; more colorful and beautiful roses have bloomed from the ashes of your hair and nails. Water has flowed, and springs have burst forth from your last tears that fell in silence and pride—or your last screams.

So that those plants and springs may guide us to a world of beauty, strength, and empowerment, of which you are the reason behind!

You will never be forgotten, we assure you. Today, we stand here with our free hair held high, with our long fingers, our loud laughter from mouths that fear neither their rights nor their truth, with skin too light, too dark, or as heterogeneous as the world map, with bodies hiding all the secrets of the universe between their dense curves, or reflecting the virgin light of the sun on flat bosoms—with all the beauty and flaws within us.

Today—thanks to you—we can say: "Yes... We are witches!"
